Dear Lagosians, Sunglee Formation Turned Children’s Day Into a Full Celebration of Brilliance

May 27th at Sunglee Formation School wasn’t just Children’s Day it was a, masterclass in joy, excellence, and what it truly means to nurture the leaders of tomorrow.

Long before the school bell rang that morning, the atmosphere was already buzzing.
Teachers were in gorgeous outfit. The stage was set, Pupils arrived in beaming attire, sneakers, and party-ready energy.
And standing at the center of it all was Mrs. Oluwaseun Palmer, the school’s visionary Director not just organizing the day, but embodying its spirit.

When Children Are Seen, They Shine
From the moment you entered the gates of the school’s beautifully maintained compound, you could tell, this was no ordinary event.
Banners lined the corridors, parents were welcomed with warm smiles, and the pupils? They had rehearsed their hearts out.

There was:

  • A literary corner where children recited poems and short stories they had written themselves (yes, authors in the making).
  • A thrilling art gallery, music club, ballet dancers that left the audience in awe. Mrs. Oluwaseun Palmer: Director with Heart and Vision
It’s one thing to run a school. It’s another thing to create an environment where children feel celebrated, protected, and inspired.

Mrs. Palmer didn’t sit behind a desk during the program, she was on the field, cheering during musical chairs, encouraging nervous pupils before performances, and laughing with the little ones as they unwrapped their party packs.

“We are raising confident, curious minds here,” she said.
“Children’s Day is not just about fun, it’s about reflection. At Sunglee, we take joy in watching them grow every day.”

And truly, the work her team is doing goes beyond academics. It is whole-child excellence in motion.

Mrs. Ala: The Calm Force Behind the Scenes
We must also hail Mrs. Ala, the ever-organized and dependable Admin of Sunglee Formation, who ensured everything ran smoothly.
The pupils know her for her gentle discipline and warm encouragement.
Parents admire her for her grace under pressure.
And the staff? Well, let’s just say: when Mrs. Ala is in the room, things work.

A Day of Joy, With a Purpose
The party packs were thoughtful.
The activities were structured and inclusive.
The entertainment was age-appropriate, diverse, and vibrant.

But beyond the fun, Sunglee Formation’s Children’s Day reminded everyone what education is really about
creating space for children to thrive academically, emotionally, culturally, and creatively.

One Quote, One Moment, One Memory
Little Bliss, a Basic 4 pupil, whispered to her classmate after winning “Best in Literature ” during the awards session:

‘I feel like I can do anything’.

And in that one sentence, the entire purpose of the day was captured.

Dear Lagosians, When Schools Go Beyond the Books… Children Soar

In a city like ours, where the noise can sometimes drown out the gentle voices of children, it is refreshing and powerful to see a school like Sunglee Formation give them the mic, the stage, and the freedom to speak.

Because the child you believe in today…
is the adult who will change the world tomorrow.

From All of Us at Dear Lagosians:
Kudos to Sunglee Formation School for Raising Stars with Heart and Steeze.

Happy Children’s Day once again, may the laughter of the pupils echo in your hallways all year round.
